Letter from Christian Lea. The other Bridgnorth SSC Councillors have responded
Today I received your letter which sets out some very important salient points, particularly about the current provision which is provided by local care homes and others a little further away from Bridgnorth.
I have heard back from Ian Kilby about the issue of extending the period of public consultation. Ian has said that Shropshire Council would not extend the statutory consultation period for a planning application except in very exceptional circumstances such as a major strategic development project that affects several communities.
Having said that, Ian has added that Shropshire Council will take into consideration any comments received up to the point of determination, so this would include any comments received beyond the statutory period of consultation. Like you, I went to the car park last Saturday and as you state it was absolutely full, illustrating just how many motorists make use of this area of land for parking at the weekend and Bank Holidays.
I and the other local Shropshire Councillors are very much aware of the views of local residents about this planning application and I would urge you to encourage other local residents to make their views known to Shropshire Council as soon as possible.
SO IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE LEAVE A COMMENT ON THE SSC PLANNING DEPARTMENT WEBSITE

Further news – Cllr Julia Buckley met with council officials last night (18.5.21) requesting an extension to the consultation period , a public meeting to discuss the loss of 97??? ( I thought there were more – ED) Parking spaces etc. Keep you posted.
