League winners with an unbeaten record this season.
Women Celebrate finishing their League Unbeaten.
The women travelled to Old Leminghtonians for the their last league match of the season. Having beaten Old Lems by 2 points back in September this was going to be a tough match against a established experience team.
Coach and Captain Darel Poole reminded all the players about the hard work done at training and through the seasons matches to put them in the position they are in the League. With all players motivated and turning nerves into a positive attitude, they were ready for kick off.
Old Lems were certainly ready to spoil the party and it took some fantastic defence to keep them from scoring.
Bridgnorth’s forwards worked well in the scrum and won many of the home teams put ins.
From a break down, second row Nerys Arch picked up the ball and went blind, committing the opposing winger to leave a pop out to winger Lore Delac with space to run in for the first 5 points of the match.
It was Old Lems next on the board with a try but no conversion.
Lindsey Preston was next to score, from a turnover scrum gave good ball to the back and with Lindsey’s phenomenal speed left their defence standing.
The need to change personnel in the second half due to an injury gave the Bridge street girls some concerns but they gathered their heads, showing great character from the players playing out of position.
Flanker Amy Jeffs showed a massive work rate. Winger Lauren Hall was next to score under the posts for Rosie Taylor to kick the conversion.
Forward of the match went to Jenna Hawkins who’s line out jumping was better than ever and Back of the match went to Lindsey Preston who’s speed left the Old Lem Ladies floundering.
