At 9.30am last Saturday the mayor and his wife, our MP Philip Dunne and the committee of the Bridgnorth Chamber of Commerce gathered at the Auction Yard for the first Park and Ride coach leaving on its circular route . At 9.30am there were NO other cars there……I went home …..then ten minutes later ….a phone call . The Auction Yard car,park was filling up and the coach was leaving to full capacity .
After all that hard work and an amount of uncertainty that visitors would even learn about the pilot scheme it looked as if it was going to work. Help was vital from Salop CC who provided the signs gratis .
Its to been set up, but now we need help with marshalling. Some volunteers to spend an hour or two at the Auction Yard on Saturdays especially around the lunch hour when the driver has to take a break – if you can help go to ‘contact us’ and send Towncrier an email.
