The Saturday High Street market is only open for ‘essential services’. This means that Craig Simmons and his bunch of helpers are the only stalls in the High Street. So get your fruit ad veg from him. The stalls -originally by the side of the Town Hall – are now at the end of High Street by LLoyds Bank.
I usually email him at simmo14unda@yahoo.co.uk for stuff I will need in the next week. Tell him what time you will collect . Pay him by cash or BACS
You can order online and he will deliver on Fridays . Brilliant service but he is the only essential service that is allowed. Of course – we do have fruit and veg from Tesco and fruit ad veg from Kev in the indoor market and cheese from Penny Martin also in the indoor market.
There is also a one way system for pedestrians – go down from Northgate towards Listley Street or up the High Street towards Whitburn Street. Although in truth this is now always adhered to.
